SMALL JUMBO

For some years now I have been thinking about building a Jumbo shaped guitar, but have not been enamored of the larger jumbos like the Gibson J-200.  So, using an old Gibson J-185 as my guide I have designed this guitar.  The shape is quite similar but the body is quite a bit thinner, front to back.  This seems to give the round warm sound of a wide (16") soundboard without any tendency to boominess or "thump."  Or at least, so it seems to me - that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

Recently I have been making a 12 string based on this body shape.  I feel that they are remarkably successful - they are flying right out of here!!!   Some Photos:
